<내 머릿 속의 지우개> 270만달러에 수출, 한국영화 수출 호조

국내 영화인들이 올해 가장 큰 특징으로 꼽는 건 부쩍 높아진 일본 열도의 한국영화에 대한 관심이다. 영화제 기간 중에 입국한 일본 바이어만 300여명, 전체 게스트의 3분의 1에 달한다. <내 머릿 속의 지우개>가 순제작비 30여억원을 회수할 만한 금액인 270만달러를 받고 일본에 판매되기까지는 이들의 치열한 경쟁도 한몫했다.

CJ엔터테인먼트의 박이범 팀장은 “애초 내놓은 가격이 150만불 정도였다”며 "우리쪽에서 부담스러울 정도로 가격이 치솟았다"고 털어놨다. 영화제 기간에 해외에 판매된 한국영화는 소니픽쳐스 재팬에 좋은 조건으로 판매된 <역도산>, 미주 지역을 포함 4개국에 팔린 <알포인트>를 비롯 <우리형><얼굴없는 미녀><말죽거리 잔혹사><슈퍼스타 감사용><인어공주><시실리 2km> 등 10여편이다.

바이어들은 이미 해외에서 지명도를 확보한 한국감독들의 신작에도 적극적인 관심을 보였다. CJ에 따르면, 박찬욱 감독의 <친절한 금자씨>의 경우 시나리오도 보지 않고 원하는 금액을 내놓겠다는 곳이 많았다. 김지운 감독의 <달콤한 인생>도 마찬가지. 청어람도 봉준호 감독의 <괴물> 판매를 위해 미국 메이저 배급사들과 논의를 계속할 예정이라고 밝혔다. 씨네클릭 아시아 쪽도 이번 영화제를 통해 김기덕 감독의 신작 프리세일을 위한 좋은 조건을 마련했다고 말했다.

영화제가 끝나면 상영작들의 해외 나들이 또한 활발해질 것으로 보인다. 영화제 기간에 호평을 얻어낸 <여자, 정혜>의 경우, 3대 국제영화제를 비롯 여러 영화제에서 초청 제의를 받았다. 도쿄영화제 경쟁부문에 초청된 <꽃피는 봄이 오면> 또한 이후 일정을 고려하며 참가할 영화제를 저울질하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

Korean Film, Active Sales

Love calls the Korean films. On Oct. 9, PPP was ended. However, proposals for the film sales and festival invitations from Foreign film production officials and film buyers still continued. Film festival officials anticipated this atmosphere would continue to the AFM that would be held after two weeks. In this year's PIFF, they also pointed out the growing attention and enthusiasm in the Korean films. During the PIFF, 300 Japanese buyers, one third of the total guests, had already visited Korean. <A Moment to Remember> was sold to Japan for 2.7 million dollars.

CJ Entertainment official said, "we suggested 1.5 million dollars to Japan, and we were also surprised with its sudden rising price." The Korean films that were sold to Sony Picture in Japan during PIFF were <R-Point> which was sold to the four countries including USA, and <My Brother>, <Once Upon a Time in High School>, and <My Mother, the Mermaid>, and <Sicily 2Km> and etc. Film buyers were interested in the new films of those well-known Korean directors : Park Chan-Wook, Kim Ki-duk, Kim Ji-woon, and Bong Joon-ho. Those presented films seem actively to be shown on the screen of home and abroad after the PIFF.

<This Charming Girl> which had lots of attention during PIFF, and <Flower Spring> which was invited to the competitive section in Tokyo Film Festival, are known to take the measure of which festivals to attend.
