PPP 오늘 개막, 파라다이스 호텔에서 3일간 열려, 홍상수 허우샤오시엔 진가신 등 참가
단편 4부작 <내 생애 최고의 날들> 중 한편의 연출과 프로듀서를 맡을 예정인 대만의 허우샤오엔, 미지의 프로젝트를 들고 부산을 찾은 한국의 홍상수, 자전적 이야기를 담은 <瓢 (표)>를 선보이는 홍콩의 진가신 감독 등 아시아 유명 감독을 비롯, 첸카이거 감독의 조감독 출신으로 데뷔작 <안양의 고아>로 세계적 주목을 이끌어냈던 중국의 왕차오나, <조메>로 2000년 칸영화제에서 황금카메라상을 수상한 이란 하산 예크타파나흐 감독 등 예비 작가들의 프로젝트, <티어스 오브 블랙타이거>의 위시트 사사나티엥 등 신진급 감독들의 야심 찬 프로젝트들도 선보인다. 또한 <마리이야기>의 이성강 감독이 준비 중인 실사영화 <살결>이나 <여고괴담 두번째 이야기>를 공동 연출했던 민규동 감독의 <솔롱고스> 또한 관심가는 프로젝트다. <유리의 눈물>로 지난해 칸영화제 감독 주간에 초청된 홍콩의 캐롤 라이는 프로듀서를 맡은 스탠리 콴과 함께 부산을 찾을 예정이다.
이번 PPP는 같은 기간 해운대 매리어트호텔에서 부산영상위 주최로 열리는 제2회 부산국제필름커미션박람회(BIFCOM)와 공동 배지를 운영하고, 로케이션 관련 세미나도 공동으로 열게 되며 영화진흥위원회와 함께 주관하는 아시아영화산업네트워크(AFIN)를 통해 아시아 10여개국 영화인들과 심포지엄을 개최할 계획이다.
또한 한국의 유망 신인감독을 발굴하기 위한 프로그램인 ‘뉴 디렉처스 인 포커스’(이하NDIF)가 올해로 2회를 맞는다. 우쯔 영화학교를 졸업한 김희정 감독의 <킬러의 치킨집> 을 포함해 김은경의 <허밍>, 오점균의 <동무>, 공동 연출자인 우리(우민호, 이석근)의 <무기여 안녕>, 유종미의 까지 총 5개의 프로젝트들이 선정됐다.

Asian Cinema, ‘Tomorrow's Door’ Opens!
The 5th Pusan Promotion Plan(PPP), which links its selected new projects by Asian directors with investors and producers, will raise its curtain on November 18th at Haeundae Paradise Hotel. This 3-day event will introduce total of 21 projects from 12 different countries.
This year's PPP will be attended by a Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien, who will be producing and directing one short film from the collection of 4 shorts , Korean director Hong Sang-Soo with his fifth project, Hong Kong director Peter Ho-Sun Chan with his autobiographical story , among many other renowned Asian directors. Moreover, Chen Kaige's former assistant director, Wang Chao, who gained notice with his debut film with his new project , and Iranian director Hassan Yektapanah, who received 2002 Cannes Camera D'Or for , with his new project , and from Thailand, Wisit Sasanatieng, director of , with his new project , along with other many ambitious Asian filmmakers will be presenting their projects at this PPP. Other projects, such as an feature film by Lee Sung-Gang (director of , an animation) and 's co-director Min Kyu-Dong's are receiving much interest. Hong Kong director Carol Lai Miu-seut will also be attending PPP with her new project , along with Stanley Kwan, who will be working with her as a producer.
PPP will be collaborating with Busan Film Commission's the 2nd BIFCOM, which takes place at Haeundae Marriott Hotel during the same period as PPP, and together they will offer seminars on location scout related matters. Moreover, in cooperation with Korean Film Commission, they will be hosting Asian Film Industry Network(AFIN), through which they will hold symposium with filmmakers from more than 10 Asian countries.
Lastly, ‘New Director's In Focus(NDIF),’ a program which focuses on discovering talented new Korean directors, will meet its 2nd year. Utz National Film School graduate Kim Hee-Jung's , Kim Eun-Kyoung's , Oh Joum-Kyun's , WooLee(Woo Min-Ho and Lee Seock-Kuen)'s and You Jong-Mee's are the 5 selected projects.
